Lawn Services Notice
Canyon View Community Association Notice
Dear Homeowners, this Thursday, October 26th, Brightview will perform “scalping and overseeding” services for all Canyon View turf areas.
Many of you have observed that our grass areas do not look as healthy and attractive as they should.
Part of the reason for this is blamed on an accumulation of thatch.
Every few years that thatch needs to be removed so that the grass roots can get air and water. Now is that time.
The yards will look beat up and brown until the new winter grass seeds can germinate and come in when green will take over the brown.
Your patience is greatly appreciated.

All residents, guests, and vendors during these hours will need to enter and exit through the EAST GATE and continue on Big Canyon Drive until they reach the lower portion of Rue Fontainebleau in Canyon Mesa if parking is needed to access your home before 5:00pm. You will need to move your vehicles outside the community no later than 7:00am as you will not have access to drive to your home until after 5:00pm on this date only. The walkways will be open for foot traffic and there will also be a pedestrian access walkway across Big Canyon Drive near the upper Rue Fontainebleau entrance in the Canyon Mesa Community.

Letter to the Community re recent tree removal, July 28, 2022
As most of you have noticed, 4 canary island pine trees were recently removed from the corner of Big Canyon Road and Rue Cannes.
At the last Board meeting on July 13, the homeowner at 1 Rue Valbonne requested the removal of three pine trees that were close to his home and patio. He told the Board that the sap and debris from the pine trees were ruining his patio and patio furniture. He agreed to pay for all costs related to the tree removal.
Our property manager, Michelle Benson, had previously visited 1 Rue Valbonne and took pictures of the 3 trees requested for removal.
The Board then unanimously approved Homeowner’s request. The property manager connected Homeowner to three tree removal contractors to contract directly for the tree removal. Homeowner selected our vendor, Brightview to remove the trees.
Before the Board could issue a letter, outlining the conditions under which the trees would be removed, and before Brightview account manager was notified, Brightview’s tree department removed not only the 3 trees approved, but a 4th tree, which was not authorized. The Homeowner paid Brightview an additional sum for the 4th tree. Neither the Board, the property manager or the account manager at Brightview was consulted.
On Monday, July 25, The Board held an emergency session to discuss necessary actions to rectify the unauthorized removal of a 4th tree, and to discuss enforcement of our CC&R’s which require that any owner who removes a tree or tree(s) within the common area, must replace said trees with new trees approved by the Board, unless otherwise noted.
The Board unanimously agreed that Brightview and Homeowner would be required to replace the removed trees entirely at their cost. Both Brightview and Homeowner have accepted full responsibility for their roles in the unauthorized tree removal. Brightview is already working on acquiring and replacing the removed pine trees.
- One 36 “ boxed African Sumac tree to match newly planted street trees, will be added along Big Cyn road in front of one of the removed pine trees.
- Three 48” box Afghan Pine trees will be planted on the corner of Rue Cannes and Big Cyn Rd, roughly behind the stone wall.
- Ground cover will be added to areas around the remaining tree stumps.
While I have your attention, I would like to take this opportunity to ask all homeowners to refrain from contacting our venders directly. Instead, please utilize the portal at CanyonViewHOA.org or contact the property management company directly for any requests for services.
Thank you for all your feedback. I hope this letter addresses your questions and concerns.
Best regards,
Peggy Tabas, President of CCVA
